Featuring 34 apartments with accompanying rental permits, this building was constructed as a three-story hotel in 1898, with the fourth floor added in 1916. In 1983, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places, allowing for federal tax credits to still be received for improvements. In addition to the residential units, the main floor features additional income generation through a restaurant, professional office space, the Fayette County Veteran Affairs Office, and the Oelwein Area United Way.
